Glen Urquhart answers questions at a recent forum in Hockessin.

No word from Sarah Palin on this race, but the political action committee of a conservative Christian group -- Concerned Women for America -- today announced its support for Republican congressional candidate Glen Urquhart of Rehoboth Beach.

The group, founded by Beverly LaHaye -- wife of "Left Behind" author and Christian Coalition founder Timothy LaHaye -- opposes abortion, civil rights for gays and lesbians, same-sex marriage, pornography, human trafficking, and embryonic stem cell research. The group promotes religious liberty, strong national security, and has commended the tea party movement in recent press releases.

Mike Mears, executive director, said the group has 500 to 1,000 members in Delaware, about half a million nationwide.

Urquhart, a Rehoboth developer, faces Greenville businesswoman Michele Rollins in the GOP primary next Tuesday.
